2015年考研英语句子翻译精练（一）

　考研英语翻译最重要的是把握句子机构，直击重点翻译。把也就是说把句子的结构划分清楚，然后重难点翻译捋清，整个句子就可以通顺的翻译出来，再加以渲染和润色即可。新东方在线小编奉上一些句子翻译练习，附有解说和译句，希望广大考生能够通过这些例子提高自身翻译技巧。

　　2015年考研英语句子翻译精练（一）

　　1、Arguing from the view that humans are different from animals in every relevant respect, extremists of this kind think that animals lie outside the area of moral choice.

　　参考答案：

　　要点：句子框架Arguing from the view that humans are…, extremists of this…。本句应注意的地方：有套和从句。逗号前面是一个现在分词短语，作状语，里面又有一个that从句作the view的同位语，逗号后面的that从句是一个宾语从句。

　　译文：这类人持极端看法，认为人与动物在各相关方面都不相同，对待动物无须考虑道德问题。

　　2、The man who has not learned anything about how to understand his own intentions and to make them effective, who has not learned something about what is possible and what impossible through experiences and books, will be enslaved by the political and social intentions of other men.

　　参考答案：

　　要点：本句的主句为The man...will be enslaved by...。两个由关系代词who引导的定语从句修饰man。按照汉语习惯，可将定语从句放在所修饰的名次前，译成两个排比句。在...about how to understand his own intentions and to make them effective...中，为了避免重复，to make them effective前省略了how，而在...about what is possible and what impossible through experiences and books...中，第二个what省略了is。

　　译文：没有学会了解和实现自己的意图并使之有效以及没有通过经验和书本弄明白哪些事情能成功哪些事情做不到的人，将受制于他人的政治和社会意图。

　　3、Even now, when the continents have been mapped and their interiors made accessible by road, river and air, most of the world's people live no more than 200 miles from the sea and relate closely to it.

　　参考答案：

　　要点：状语从句when the continents have been mapped and their interiors made accessible by road, river and air由两个并列成分组成。made accessible前省略了have been，即“have been made accessible”，表示easy to get into的意思。(由名词派生的动词或由名词转换的动词，在汉语中不易找到相应的动词，这时可将其转译成汉语名词。to map...可译为“在地图上标出”。再如，to characterize...可译为“特点”;to symbolize...可译为“象征”;to personify...可译为“化身”;to silhouette...可译为“轮廓”等。)

　　译文：时至今日，大陆已在地图上标出，内地已由道路、河流和空中航线沟通，而世界上大多数人仍生活在距离海洋不超过200英里的区域内，并与其保持着密切的关系.

　　4、When that happens, it is not a mistake: it is mankind's instinct for moral reasoning in action, an instinct that should be encouraged rather than laughed at.

　　参考答案：

　　要点：句子框架：When that happens, it is not a mistake: it is ….instinct…, an instinct that should be…。应当注意：以冒号为界，将全句分成两个复合句。前面的复合句里，when that happens是时间状语从句。 it is not a mistake表明某种行为(it指代的)并不是错误的。冒号后面的复合句解释为什么。这里有一个that从句，作instinct的定语。本句话主要是让大家理解冒号的作用，冒号后的句子是解释 it is not a mistake的原因。

　　译文：当那些(指代上文的成分)发生时，这并不是错误的。因为这是人类用道德观念进行推理的本能在起作用，这种本能应得到鼓励而不应遭到嘲弄。

　　5、Absence of the linear gate pulse indicates that the input pulse to be processed dose not meet the requirements that are set up by the lower and upper level control and/or no pulse is present at the input.

　　参考答案：

　　要点：英语中有些词语和短语不和否定词连用，而是通过本身的词汇意义或引申意义表现出否定意味，如本句的absence就表示否定，这种结构被成为词语否定结构。此外，本句含有一个定语从句，由关系代词that引导，修饰requirements。

　　译文：若没有线性门脉冲产生，则说明进行处理的输入脉冲不符合低电平和高电平控制要求的条件，或者在输入端根本没有脉冲。
