2016考研英语翻译点拨：比较结构

　　比较结构在考研英语中的考点，远远不止一些基本的含义，还有一些其他延伸出来的词组和含义。具体还包括以下方面：

　　1.more A than B和less B than A

　　我们都知道，more后面接的是肯定的对象，less后面的是否定对象。那than呢?More A than B,的含义是“是A而不是B”;与其说B，不如说A”.He was more frightened than hurt. 与其说他受伤了，不如说他被吓到了。He is more lucky than clever.他是幸运，而不是聪明。He is more a close friend than a boyfriend to her. 他对她而言，是一个亲密的朋友，而不是男朋友。

　　而less B than A则是“是A而不是B”的含义。如：Jim is less honest than his brother. 这句话则可翻译为“Jim不像他兄弟那样诚实”。

　　2. no more than 和not any more than

　　no more than 和 not any more than这对词组和前面所讲的有所不同，它们意思是相同的，都是“不多于，不超过”的含义。例如：Abraham Lincoln's whole school education added up to no more than one year. 这句话的含义就是：Abraham Lincoln的整个学校教育时间加起来不超过一年。

　　3.no more ...than和not...any more than

　　no more ...than和not...any more than的含义也是相同的，意思是“正如...也不那样，A和B都不”。如：Marry is no more diligent than Tom. 这句话的意思是“Marry和Tom都不勤奋”。同样的，We can no more leave the Party than fish can leave water.这句话的意思则是：我们不能离开宴会，正如鱼不能离开水一样。

　　4.not more than和not less than

　　看到这两个词组，有的小伙伴肯定就要说，老师你不要告诉我，这两个词组的意思也是一样的。当然，这两个词组一个more,一个less,它们的意思明显不同，但是它们有异曲同工之妙。怎么说呢?not more than 通常用于数词之前，意为“至多;顶多;不超过”，其意义与at most相同。 下面来看这个例句：On the ground lay a peasant boy of not more than seventeen. 这句话意为：地上躺着一个不超过17岁的农家小男孩。因为not more than是“最多”的含义。not less than 意为“不少于”，意思同at least相近。例如：Our school has not less than three thousand students. 我们学校的学生不少于3000人。因为not less than 是“至少”的含义。

　　5.not more... Than

　　这个词组看起来和not more than相似，但是含义有很大的不同。它是“不比...”的意思。This story is not more interesting than that one. 这个故事并不比那个故事有趣，它和下面这个句子意思其实是相同的。This story is not so/ as interesting as that one. 这个故事和那个故事一样无趣，没有吸引力。

　　虽然这些词组看起来长的很相似，但是只要小伙伴们认真去分析，相信一定能够做到所向无敌。
