2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（36）

考研英语长难句是让很多考生头疼的一大难题，对于长难句的结构分析、主旨把握及语义提炼想到一步位并不容易，这需要大家熟练掌握语法的同时，平时多练习和总结才行。下面新东方在线就和大家一起通过实例练习及解析来一步步提升长难句的解读能力。

2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（36）

　　1. Within two weeks, he was talking for the first time with the board of Hartford Financial Services Group, which named him CEO and chairman on September 29.

　　【分析】复合句。句子主干为 he was talking...with the board of...， which 引导的非限定性定语从句修饰先行词 Hartford Financial Services Group。

　　【译文】两周后，他和美国哈特福德金融服务公司的董事会第一次面谈，这家公司于9月29号任命他为首席执行官和董事会主席。

　　2. As boards scrutinize succession plans in response to shareholder pressure, executives who don't get the nod also may wish to move on.

　　【分析】复合句。句子主干为 executives...also may wish to move on。as 引导时间状语从句，主句中包含 who 引导的定语从句，修饰先行词 executives。

　　【译文】正当董事会迫于股东压力仔细审查续任计划的时候，没有得到同意续任的执行官可能会想要离开。

　　【点拨】1) scrutinize“仔细检查，详审”。2) succession 在本句中是“继承，继任”的意思，此外还有“连续，继续”的意思。3) nod 在本句中引申为“同意，认可”之意。

　　【临摹】应他们的要求，他捐献了1,000美元。

　　临摹答案：

　　He donated 1,000 dollars in response to theirrequest.

　　3. For years executives and headhunters haveadhered to the rule that the most attractive CEOcandidates are the ones who must poached.

　　【分析】多重复合句。句子主干为 executives andheadhunters have adhered to the rule...。that 引导同位语从句，对 rule 进行解释说明。从句中又包含 who 引导的定语从句，修饰先行词 the ones。

　　【译文】多年来，执行官和猎头们都认同这样一个原则：最有吸引力的 CEO 候选人是那些需要偷偷挖来的人。

　　【点拨】1) adhere“粘附，附着;坚持，支持”，常与介词 to 连用。原意为“水煮(蛋);2) poach(侵入他人地界)偷猎(或捕猎);侵占，侵犯，窃取”，本句中引申为“挖角”。

　　【临摹】我们节约教育经费有个原则，就是不能因其而影响教学质量。

　　4. Says Korn/Ferry senior partner Dennis Carey: "I can't think of a single search I'vedone where a board has not instructed me to look at sitting CEO's first."

　　【分析】复合句。句子为倒装句，引号中的部分为 says 的宾语。该宾语从句的主干为 I can't think of asingle search，I've done 是省略引导词的定语从句，修饰先行词 search，where 也是修饰 search 的定语从句。

　　【译文】光辉国籍的资深合伙人 Dennis Carey 说：“我所举办的每一次招聘中，董事会都要求我从那些在任的 CEO 中寻找人选。”

　　【点拨】sitting“在任的，在任期中的”。
