2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（43）

考研英语长难句是让很多考生头疼的一大难题，对于长难句的结构分析、主旨把握及语义提炼想到一步位并不容易，这需要大家熟练掌握语法的同时，平时多练习和总结才行。下面新东方在线就和大家一起通过实例练习及解析来一步步提升长难句的解读能力。

2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（43）

　　1. Similarly, some Wall street investment firms armed themselves with patents for financial products, even as they took positions in court cases opposing the practice.

　　【分析】复合句。句子主干为 some Wall street investment firms armed themselves with patents，其中包含 armed sb. with sth. “用某物来武装某人”。for financial products 是 patents 的后置定语;even as 引导让步状语从句，其中 opposing the practice 为伴随状语。

　　【译文】无独有偶，一些华尔街投资公司也通过为一些金融产品申请专利来武装自己，尽管他们在法庭案例中对这种行为持反对态度。

　　【点拨】本句中 took positions 是“表明立场”的意思。

　　2. The Federal Circuit issued an unusual order stating that the case would be heard by all 12 of the court's judges, rather than a typical panel of three, and that one issue it wants to evaluate is whether it should "reconsider" its State Street Bank ruling.

　　【分析】多重复合句。句子主干为 he Federal Circuit issued an unusual order。现在分词结构 stating...坐伴随状语，其中包含由 and 连接的两个that 引导的宾语从句。第一个宾语从句中包含 rather than 结构。第二个宾语从句包含省略引导词的定语从句 it wants to evaluate 以及 whether 引导的表语从句。

　　【译文】联邦巡回法院发布了一条异乎寻常的命令，要求该案例由12名法院法官集体听审，而不是一个典型的三人小组，并且他们想评估一下法院是否应该审查一下他们对道富银行的判决。

　　【点拨】hear 本句中是“审理”的意思。

　　3. The Federal Circuit's action comes in thewake of a series of recent decisions by theSupreme Court that has narrowed the scope ofprotections for patent holders.

　　【分析】复合句。句子主干为 The Federal Circuit's actioncomes，介词结构 in the wake of 作状语，decisions 后接两个定语;一是介词结构 by the Supreme Court作后置定语;一是 that 引导的定语从句修饰 decisions。

　　【译文】联邦巡回法院在最高法院最近做出一系列限制对专利持有人的保护范围的决定之后，采取了行动。

　　【点拨】in the wake of “在...之后，紧跟”。

　　【临摹】展望灾后重建，可以说，这次洪水是灾难，也是机遇，是一次扩大内需的机遇，也是一次加快发展的机遇。

　　4. In his book The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell argues that "social epidemics" aredriven in large pert by the actions of a tiny minority of special individuals, often calledinfluentials, who are unusually informed, persuasive, or well connected.

　　【分析】多重复合句。句子主干为 Malcolm Gladwell argues that...。that 引导宾语从句,为介词结构 Inhis book The Tipping Point 作状语。宾语从句的主干为是 "social epidemics" are driven; often calledinfluentials 是 special individuals 的后置定语，后面 who 引导的定语从句修饰 influentials。

　　【译文】在马尔科姆?格拉德维尔的《引爆点》一书中，他声称“社会流行风尚”在很大程度上是由一小部分特殊人物引起的，这些人通常被成为具有影响力的人物，他们信息灵通、能言善辩，而且社交广泛。

　　【点拨】1) tip 作动词时常用意为“在...的顶端装附加物;(使)倾斜;(使)翻倒;给...小费;告诫;提示”等。作名词时常意为本句中 意为“顶端;尖端;小费;告诫;提示”。本句中 tipping 意为“倾斜，翻倒”。2)well connected“好联系的”，本句中是要表达“社交广泛的，人脉丰富的”意思。

　　临摹答案：

　　 Reconstruction in the wake of floods indicatesthat the floods, while causing disasters, have alsobrought opportunities, including those to expanddomestic demand and expedite development.
