考研英语长难句是让很多考生头疼的一大难题，对于长难句的结构分析、主旨把握及语义提炼想到一步位并不容易，这需要大家熟练掌握语法的同时，平时多练习和总结才行。下面新东方在线就和大家一起通过实例练习及解析来一步步提升长难句的解读能力。

2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（66）

　　1. This "added-worker effect" could support thesafety net offered by unemployment insurance ordisability insurance to help families weather badtimes.

　　【分析】简单句。句子主干为 This "added-worker effect"could support the safety net。过去分词结构 offeredby...disability insurance 作后置定语;不定式结构 tohelp...作目的状语。

　　【译文】这种“附加劳动力效应”可以加强由失业保险和伤残保险所提供的社会保障体系，以帮助家庭渡过难关。

　　【点拨】1) 注意句中的几个表达：safety net 指“社会保障体系”;unemployment insurance 指“失业保险”;disability insurance 指“伤残保险”。2) weather 在句中作动词，意为“平安渡过(危机)，经历(危难)而存活”。

　　【临摹】许多小公司没能经受住这次经济衰退的风波。

　　2. Steelworkers, airline employees, and now those in the auto-industry are joining millions offamilies who must worry about interest rates, stock market fluctuation and the harsh realitythat they may outlive their retirement money.

　　【分析】复合句。主句主干为：Steelworkers, airline employees, and now those...are joining millionsof families。who 引导的定语从句修饰 families;在该从句中，名词短语 interest rates, stock marketfluctuation，及 the harsh reality 构成并列平行结构，共同作 worry about 的宾语。句末 that 引导的从句作 reality 的同位语。

　　【译文】钢铁工人、航空公司雇员以及现在的汽车业职员正在加入那些担心利率、股市波动和退休金不够用的数百万家庭的行列。

　　3. For much of the past year, President Bushcampaigned to move Social Security to a saving-account model, with retirees trading much or all oftheir guarantees payments for payments dependingon investment returns.

　　【分析】简单句。句子主干为 President Bushcampaigned to move Social Security to a saving-account model。句首介词短语作时间状语，介词 with 引导的独立主格结构“with+名词+现在分词”作伴随状语，其中现在分词短语 depending on...作 payments 的后置定语。

　　【译文】在去年的大部分时间里，布什总统致力于把社会保障推广成储蓄账户模式;在这种模式下，退休人员将他们大部分或全部有保障的退休金变成依赖回报率的投资。

　　【点拨】1) campaign 作名词时意为“战役;运动;活动”，作动词时意为“参加活动，搞运动;作战”。2)move 意为“移动，搬动”，在本句中意为“(稳定、快速地)推进(工作、改革等)”。

　　4. Both the absolute cost of healthcare and the share of it borne by families have risen andnewly fashionable health-savings plans are spreading from legislative halls to Wal-Martworkers, with much higher deductibles and a large mew dose of investment risk for families'future healthcare.

　　【分析】并列句。前一分句的主干是 the cost and the share...have risen。后一分句的主干是 health-savings plan are spreading from... to ...，其后的 with...结构作伴随状语。

　　【译文】医疗保健的实际支出和需要家庭承担的份额都增加了——而新近流行的医疗储蓄计划正从立法大厅蔓延到了沃尔玛职工，但是同时可免除项目更多了，家庭未来医疗保健的投资风险也更高了。

　　【点拨】1)注意句中的几个表达：healthcare 意为“医疗保险”;health saving 意为“医疗储蓄”;legislative 意为“立法机构”，在美国指国会。2)deductible 常用作形容词，意为“可扣除的;可减去的，可减免的”，句中作名词，指保险单中规定保险人对某一数额的损失不负赔偿责任的扣除条款。
