2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（74）

考研英语长难句是让很多考生头疼的一大难题，对于长难句的结构分析、主旨把握及语义提炼想到一步位并不容易，这需要大家熟练掌握语法的同时，平时多练习和总结才行。下面新东方在线就和大家一起通过实例练习及解析来一步步提升长难句的解读能力。

2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（74）

　　1. That means a higher proportion of what is inthe sea is being caught, so the real differencebetween present and past is likely to be worse thanthe one recorded by changes in catch size.

　　【分析】并列多重复合句。由 so 连接的两个并列分句。第一个分句中 a higher proportion of what is in the sea isbeing caught 是省略 that 的宾语从句，of what is in thesea 作 proportion 的后置定语。第二个分句的主干为 thereal difference...is likely to be worse than...，其中含有比较结构 worse than; between present and past 和过去分词结构 recorded by...分别作 difference 和 the one的后置定语。

　　【译文】这意味着海洋中还有更大比例的鱼类正在被捕杀，因此现在和以前的数据真正的差别有可能比所记录的捕获量的变化更糟。

　　【点拨】size 在本句中是“规模”的意思。

　　2. In the early days, longlines would have been more saturated with fish. Some individualswould therefore not have been caught, since no baited hooks would have been available totrap them, leading to an underestimate of fish stocks in the past.

　　【分析】第一个句子是简单句，第二个句子是复合句。两个句子都使用了虚拟语气。第二个分句中包含 since引导原因状语从句，句末 leading...是现在分词结构作伴随状语。

　　【译文】在早期渔业中，同样的，多钩长线上本可以挂满更多的鱼。因此一些鱼也是可以逃脱的，因为没有带鱼饵的钩去捕获它们，这也就导致低估了过去存在的鱼类的数量。

　　【点拨】1) saturated 常用意为“饱和的”，本句中意为“挂慢的”。2) baited“诱饵型的，带有诱饵的”。

　　3. Dr. Myers and Dr. Worm argue that their workgives a correct baseline, which future managementefforts must take into account.

　　【分析】多重复合句。句子主干为 Dr. Myers and Dr.Worm argue that， that 引导宾语从句。宾语从句中又包含 which 引导的定语从句修饰先行词 baseline。定语从句中which 作 take 的宾语，构成 take sth. into account。

　　【译文】迈尔斯博士和沃尔姆博士指出他们的工作给出了一个正确的基线，未来的管理工作必须对此加以考虑。

　　【点拨】1) take sth. into account“考虑到...”。此外，相同意义的表达还有take sth. intoconsideration;allowing for sth.; have sth. in mind 等。

　　【临摹】我相信您会考虑我的建议的。

　　4. The notion is that people have failed to detect the massive changes which have happenedin the ocean because they have been looking back only a relatively short time into the past.

　　【分析】多重复合句。本句中含有三个从句。首先是 that 引导的表语从句;其次是 which 引导的定语从句，修饰先行词 changes;最后是由 because 引导的原因状语从句。

　　【译文】这个想法认为人们无法测定海洋中的大规模变化，因为他们仅仅考虑了一段相对较近的历史。
