2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（85）

2016考研英语阅读长难句实例分析（85）

　　1. Boas felt that the culture of any society must be understood as the result of a unique history and not as one of many cultures belonging to a broader evolutionary stage or type of culture.

　　【分析】复合句。句子主干是Boas felt that…。that引导宾语从句,宾语从句的主干是the culture of any society must be understood as…and not as…,其中现在分词短语belonging to…作cultures的后置定语。

　　【译文】鲍亚士认为任何社会的文化都应该被理解为某一独特历史的产物，而不属于任何文化更广义的进化阶段或文化类型的一种。

　　【点拨】evolutionary是evolve的形容词形式，意为“进化的，发展的，演变的”。

　　2.Some attributed virtually every important cultural achievement to the inventions of a few, especially gifted peoples that, according to diffusionists , then spread to other cultures.

　　【分析】复合句。句子的主干包含attribute...to...结构;that引导的定语从句修饰先行词inventions; according to diffusionists 为插入语。

　　【译文】有些人类学家认为,几乎每项重要的文化成就都是少数特别有天赋的民族所发明创造的。根据传播论者的看法，这些发明后来传播到其他的文化中。

　　【点拨】l) attribute to…含义是“将…归因于…。”2) virtually意为“几乎，简直;实际上”

　　【临摹】我们把成功归因于你的有益的建议和指导。

　　3.“Women are particularly susceptible to developing depression and anxiety disorders in response to stress compared to men.”according to Dr. Yehuda, chief psychiatrist at New York's Veteran's Administration Hospital.

　　【分析】本句结构较简单，引号内的内容为Dr. Yehuda 说的话，其主干为Women are susceptible to developing depression and anxiety disorders。 according to 意为 “在…看来”;chief psychiatrist…为 Dr. Yehuda 的同位语，起补充说明的作用。

　　【译文】纽约退伍军人管理医院的首席精神病学家叶胡达博士说，“在面对压力时，女性比男性更易患抑郁症和焦虑症”。

　　【点拨】susceptible意为“易受影响的;敏感的;易患病”，常用于be susceptible to 结构。

　　【临摹】任何产业都会受到潮流的影响，包括出版业。

　　4.Studies of both animals and humans have shown that sex hormones somehow affect the stress response, causing females under stress to produce more of the trigger chemicals than do males under the same conditions.

　　【分析】多重复合句…主句主子为Studies have shown that…。that引导宾语从句，其主干是sex hormone affect the stress response。现在分词结构causing females···作结果状语，为避免头重脚轻,比较结构more···than引导的状语从句用了倒装语序，正常语序：···than males under the same conditions do，其中do替代前面的 produce。

　　【译文】对动物和人类的研究事明：性激素会以某种方式影响对压力的反应，使处于压力下的雌性比处于相同条件下的雄性产生更多的触发不良反应的化学物质。
