　　The once all-conquering Chinese women's volleyballteam regained its mojo by outperforming host Japanto win the FIVB World Cup on Sunday and qualifyfor the Rio de Janeiro Olympics next year.

　　The World Cup trophy was the first world title China has clinched since its gold at the 2004Athens Olympics, under former mentor Chen Zhonghe.

　　It was also the first major crown (Olympics, World Championships and World Cup) to be placedon the resume of coach Lang, who returned to the Chinese national post in 2013 after leadingChina and the United States to silver medals at the Olympics in 1996 and 2008 respectively."

　　这也是郎平教练率领下重获三大赛事(奥运会，世锦赛和世界杯)的第一大冠。她曾于1996和2008年分别率领中国和美国夺得奥运会亚军，之后于2013年回到中国国家队。

　　Boasting a strong roster and great team spirit, the Chinese women, led by Lang, claimed fiveconsecutive world titles, including two World Cup titles, two World Championships and anOlympic gold in the 1980s, to become the nation's first 'big-ball' team to dominate on theworld stage.

　　However, the China squad has been plagued by frustrating international results since thoseheady days due to frequent coaching changes, injuries to key players and a shortage ofemerging talent.

　　The victorious World Cup campaign has boosted the squad's morale and has also marked theend of a prolonged slump, said Zhang Ping, a member of the 2004 gold-winning team.

　　"The journey of the Cup really motivated the current team, which is young and relativelyinexperienced.

　　"The team should learn from the experience this time and make the best of it in preparation forthe Olympics next year," said Zhang, who witnessed the victory on Sunday as a guest TVcommentator.
