　　主要从事有机合成化学研究，包括合成方法学、不对称合成、天然产物与药物合成；化学生物学之多样性导向有机合成及有机小分子调控。

　　承担本科生《有机化学》，硕士生学位课《高等有机合成》，博士生学位课《有机合成》的讲授。

　　1990年以来先后主持或承担十项国家自然科学基金课题，包括国家基金九五重点项目（1）、国家杰出青年科学基金、国家自然科学基金十五重大项目子课题、国家自然科学基金面上项目（4）；主持省部级项目（6）。

　　合作发表论文105篇（所附论文目录仅列为主发表的SCI论文），发表的论文被他人引用311次，包括方法被他人采用2次。获得4项国家发明专利，另有2项国家发明专利已被公开。编著“有机合成”教材一部（高等教育出版社， 2004）。  

　　应邀在第五、六届国际华人有机化学研讨会作邀请报告；第十五届国际杂环化学大会（台北）;第十三届国际有机合成大会（波兰）;第八届有机化学新进展京都国际会议（日本）;第七届国际碳负离子会议（西班牙）做口头报告。第二、三届全国有机化学学术会议作邀请报告。邀请报告在名古屋大学主办的“第二届中日青年有机化学家学术研讨会”获会议报告奖。
