2022考研英语基础词汇讲解（6）

　　在各类考试中，都是基础先行，那么在考研英语的复习中，词汇是基础的基础。不懂词汇就无法看懂句型、词义及语法，不论是在考研英语阅读理解中，还是在考研英语写作中，词汇的掌握都是最重要的一关。下面新东方在线考研频道小编给大家整理了一些考研英语基础词汇相关内容，供考生们参阅：

　　1.fess----speak“说”

　　confess v 承认，坦白

　　profession n 职业

　　professional a 职业的

　　professor n 教授

　　例句：

　　1)What has happened is that people cannot confess fully to their dreams, as easily and openly as once they could, lest they be thought pushing, acquisitive and vulgar. (真题 2000, Text 5, Paragraph 2)

　　现在的情况是人们不能像以前那样轻易地、公开地坦陈自己的梦想，惟恐别人认为自己爱出风头、贪婪、庸俗不堪。

　　2)Perhaps selection for the caring professions, especially medicine, could be made less by good grades in chemistry and more by such considerations as sensitivity and sympathy. (真题 1995, Text 4，Paragraph 5 )

　　也许对护理职业——特别是医疗护理人员——的选择应少注重化学成绩而多关注他们是否敏感、是否有同情心。

　　2. fabl,fabul----speak, “讲，说”

　　fable n 寓言;传说

　　fabulous a 寓言般的;难以置信的

　　Preface n. 前言，开场白 v. 为...写序言

　　例句：

　　1)a fabulous amount 惊人的数额

　　fabulous heroes 传说中的英雄

　　2) In a draft preface to the recommendations, discussed at the 17 May meeting, Shapiro suggested that the panel had found a broad consensus that it would be “morally unacceptable to attempt to create a human child by adult nuclear cloning.” (真题 1999, Text 4, Paragraph 3)

　　Logical a 符合逻辑的

　　analogy n 类比;类似

　　apology n 道歉，认错

　　apologize v 道歉

　　catalogue n 目录，一览表

　　dialogue n 对话

　　monologue n 独白

　　slogan n 标语，口号

　　例句：

　　1) If you say to your children “I’m sorry I got angry with you, but…”, what follows that “but” can render the apology ineffective : “I had a bad day” or “Your noise was giving me a headache” leaves the person who has been injured feeling that he should be apologizing for his bad behavior in expecting an apology. (CET-4, 2005.12, Passage 4, Paragraph 2)

　　如果你对孩子说：“对不起我对你发火了，但是……”，“但是”后面的话可能使这个道歉毫无意义。但是后面的“我今天情绪不好”，或者“你发出的噪声使我头疼”，这类的话使受到伤害的人感到不是你在向他道歉，而是他应该(为你的不当的行为)向你道歉。

　　2)As a logical consequence of this development, separate journals have now appeared aimed mainly towards either professional or amateur readership. (真题 2001, Text 1, Paragraph 3)

　　这样发展的必然结果是出现了针对专业读者和业余读者的不同杂志。
