DearMr. President,

Iam a student of the university and ask for your concern about the physicalcondition of the students here.

Inotice that many of my classmates become fatter and physically weaker thanbefore. These changes are not good for their health. So I feel whether theuniversity can do something for them. How about making a rule that a studentfailing in PE subject cannot graduate? Besides, it would be much better ifthere were more facilities for physical training, such as badminton halls,swimming pools, and so on.

Ibelieve that with these improvements our students’ physical condition can belargely improved.

点评：

这是考研英语第二次考建议信。上一次是2007年考察的是给图书馆提建议，而这一次是给越来越差的学生身体素质提建议。

内容主题自是提建议，但是考生需要在提建议前先简要说明学生的身体现状，这样才符合常理。此外，考生比较容易犯的另一错误是写信语气不对，这是通病。既然是给身份地位尊贵的校长写信，所以以下措辞是不妥的：

I am writinghere to put forward some suggestions about …

这样的措辞像是对平级或对下级的说法。

I propose that …

校长会想“你谁啊？你凭什么提议？”

所以，给身份地位比自己明显高的人写信一定要注意措辞的委婉程度，大家可以在笔者的范文中自习揣摩。
